Expedia(R), the world's leading online travel agency, has announced its biggest warm weather promotion of the year to some of the most popular vacation destinations in the world -- helping customers fulfill that New Year's resolution to relax and vacation more in 2005. With irresistible deals to sunny destinations like Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Florida, Expedia is making the resolution to "take a vacation," one that consumers can easily keep.
"Most people agree that vacations are a good idea, however, a recent survey we conducted with Harris Interactive showed that Americans were still scheduled to give back a total of about 415 million unused vacation days in 2004," said Kari Swartz, Expedia consumer travel expert. "The fact is that more than half of Americans say they come back from vacation feeling better about their jobs, happier, and more productive. So we wanted to launch a promotion that would convince people that their dreams of sipping pina coladas on a beach in January actually can be a reality."
Expedia's warm weather promotion (www.expedia.com/sun) is for travel through March 31, 2005, and, in some cases, as late as April 30. As further incentive, Expedia is also offering special perks like $100 resort credits at certain properties and up to 10 percent savings on select activities, including tours and excursions. And for those who may need additional inspiration to take their vacation this year, Expedia provides several reasons for travel in 2005, including:
